CC Sabathia Keeps Damage At Minimum
6 years agoNew York Yankees veteran starting pitcher CC Sabathia’s bounce-back month of June continued in Tampa Bay on Friday night as he pitched a solid game, ultimately getting handed a defeat against the Rays. The 37-year-old once again managed to limit the damage despite allowing a high number of hits, surrendering just one run on nine hits and a walk. He struck out four, getting pulled after 5 1/3 innings -- his shortest outing of the month. In four starts this June, Sabathia is now 2-2, but his ERA is at a strong 2.10. He remains a tricky waiver wire option, as he’s capable of good starts with numbers that are above average, but he can be unpredictable with his effectiveness on a consistent basis.
