5 years agoDetroit Tigers top pitching prospect Casey Mize (shoulder) logged just two-thirds of an inning in his rehab outing for High-A Lakeland on Wednesday. According to two organizational sources, Mize didn't suffer any setbacks and was removed because he had thrown 32 pitches while his fastball sat at 93-95 mph. Mize is baseball's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and was supposed to throw around 60 pitches or four innings in the rehab start. The right-hander went to the bullpen to complete his pitch count after being pulled from the game. The 22-year-old should be stashed in all dynasty/keeper leagues and could even make some starts for the Tigers later this year, depending on health. He's posted an impressive 0.92 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 75 strikeouts in 78 innings (13 starts) for Lakeland and Double-A Erie this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
