Casey Mize Allows Two Runs Over Four Innings
3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize was limited to another short outing in Wednesday's game against the Texas Rangers. Mize pitched four innings and allowed four hits, no walks and two earned runs before being pulled due to load management. He threw 35 of his 50 pitches for strikes and recorded two strikeouts. Mize was limited to three innings and 56 pitches in his previous start before this one. So it seems as if 50 pitches will be the general limit he'll have on his workload for now, which of course greatly limits his potential. Mize will head into the All-Star break with a 3.59 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. Despite those stellar ratios, he's a drop candidate in shallow leagues and points leagues as he simply won't go deep enough into games to accumulate sturdy statistics and fantasy points.
