Carter Kieboom Hitting Ninth In Debut
6 years agoWashington Nationals shortstop prospect Carter Kieboom is hitting ninth in his major league debut on Friday against Padres starting pitcher Matt Strahm. Kieboom is the team's top prospect and No. 24 overall, per MLB Pipeline, and he should play every day until Trea Turner (finger) returns from his injury. He's worth starting in all leagues for his upside, but hitting at the bottom of the order won't be ideal for his counting stats. The 21-year-old phenom was hitting .379/.506/.636 with three home runs and 18 RBI in 18 games for Triple-A Fresno before his call-up.
