Carson Whisenhunt Strikes Out Eight
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants pitching prospect Carson Whisenhunt continued his early-season dominance with four-and-a-third innings of no-hit baseball for High-A Eugene. Whisenhunt also struck out eight while walking three. The 22-year-old is amidst a fantastic season, with a 0.52 ERA, 38.7% strikeout rate, and a .055 opponent batting average. His star pitch is a low-80 plus changeup that tunnels well with his low-90s fastball. The 2022 second-round pick's strong start should be encouraging to those in deeper dynasty leagues, but with a 53% fly-ball rate and weak tertiary pitches, there is room for improvement.
