Carson Wentz Facing Three-Month Recovery

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz (back) is facing a three-month recovery while dealing with a stress fracture in his back, according to head coach Doug Pederson. However, Wentz's injury will not require surgery after evolving over time. Wentz is listed as doubtful for Sunday night against the Rams, but given his estimated three-month recovery timeline, it's unlikely we'll see Wentz again this season. Nick Foles is expected to start the rest of the way and will be a low-end QB2 despite being the Super Bowl MVP last year. Pederson doesn't anticipate any long-term issues for Wentz, but he is now starting to develop a reputation for being injury-prone, which will knock him down on draft boards next fall.
