6 months agoCarson Hocevar will start 20th in Sunday's Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway. On Friday, Hocevar clocked in with the 21st best time during practice, coming in at a speed of 134.846. Although his speed in qualifying (131.048) was over three miles per hour slower than he showed in practice, it was on par with the same falloff experienced by many drivers, a decline that was almost certainly due to the weather in Newton on Saturday. Regardless of the role that weather did or did not play, his practice and qualifying results are also consistent with how he has performed on short tracks in the Cup Series, as he has an average finish of 22.6 in five starts. Because of his underwhelming history on short tracks, and given that passing will likely be a challenge on Sunday night, it is recommended that you treat the No. 77 as nothing more than a dart throw in DFS this weekend.--Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller
