Carlos Santana Slumping Once Again
6 years agoIn his first season in the National League following eight seasons with the Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Carlos Santana is poised for the worst season of his career. After striking out twice and failing to record a hit in three plate appearances Thursday night against the Nationals, the Dominican is hitting an abysmal .221 with 13 home runs and 46 RBI. Over the past seven games, the numbers have been even worse, as he’s managed to hit just .211. Santana appeared ready to finally break out after a strong offensive month in May, but he’s fallen back into his struggles this month.
