Carlos Santana Goes 0-For-3 Wednesday
4 years agoKansas City Royals first baseman Carlos Santana went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. This spring has gone as expected for Santana as he is now hitting .225 with two home runs, eight RBI, and seven walks across 16 games. Santana signed with the Royals this offseason and will be their starting first baseman and will likely hit cleanup. While he is not a candidate to hit for a high average, he has ranked in the top three percent of the league in walk rate in five of the previous six seasons. He will also hit for some power as he has hit at least 20 bombs in each of the previous four seasons, excluding the shortened 2020 campaign. He should be a solid selection in OBP leagues with his current ADP of 214.
