Carlos Jorge Struggling With Consistency At High-A
4 months agoCincinnati Reds outfield prospect Carlos Jorge has performed very well at times through his second look at High-A this season but has struggled to hold that success for an extended period of time. Through 73 games this season, the 20-year-old holds a .210/.266/.377 line with 10 home runs, 35 RBI, 21 stolen bases, and a poor 17:105 BB:K ratio. In April and June, he held a batting average of over .200, but in May and July, he posted an average of under .200, which negatively affected his statistics. While his performance in the batter's box has dipped this season, his skills on the basepaths have not. Jorge is considered the seventh-best prospect in the Reds system on MLB Pipeline and remains a few seasons away from his major league debut.
