Carlos Hyde Slated To Be Seahawks No. 2 Back To Start The Year
4 years agoSeattle Seahawks running back Carlos Hyde figures to open the year as the team's No. 2 back behind starter Chris Carson. Hyde got a lot of reps with the first team offense at training camp while Carson was away from the team dealing with a family matter. Those reps should have Hyde ready to contribute when his number is called at the start of the year. Fellow running back Rashaad Penny (knee) is currently on the PUP list after offseason knee surgery, which leaves the team with Carson, Hyde, second-year back Travis Homer and rookie DeeJay Dallas. Carson should be a workhorse to start the year, which doesn't leave much room for Hyde to contribute fantasy value, but owners of Carson in deep, deep leagues might want to grab Hyde as a clear handcuff for safety purposes.
