6 years agoThe New York Mets are expected to select the contract of Carlos Gomez from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday. Gomez is hitting .270 with six home runs and 22 RBI in 35 games thus far with the Syracuse Mets. The veteran outfielder should see playing time right away with the injuries to Michael Conforto (concussion) and Jeff McNeil (abdomen) that occurred on Thursday. McNeil is day-to-day, while Conforto will miss some time. Gomez hasn't been a very productive player in years, but is worth monitoring for those in need of outfield help.--Adam
