Carlos Gomez Leaves Game Tuesday With Groin Issue
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Carlos Gomez left the game Tuesday versus the Royals with a groin issue. He had been 0-for-1 with a walk when he left the game with tightness in his groin. Gomez is uncertain how long he will miss, as this is the first time he has had an issue with his groin that caused him to leave a game or miss a game. Gomez was a superstar back in 2013 and 2014. In those two seasons, he combined for 47 home runs and 74 steals with a .284 average in both seasons. He has since struggled and has not played more than 118 games in any of the past three seasons while playing for three teams. Gomez still has some upside to become relevant, as he is on pace for 20 home runs and 12 steals, but he needs to raise his .200 batting average. However, much of this depends on whether he is going to miss a couple of days or a longer period of time. Stay tuned.
