Carlos Estevez Open To Any Role With New Team
4 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies right-handed reliever Carlos Estevez said he's open to any role his new team gives him after being acquired from the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday in exchange for pitching prospects George Klassen and Samuel Aldegheri. "However I can put a grain of sand onto this beautiful beach that these guys built, I'm down to whatever, man," Estevez said on Monday. Estevez had been pitching well for the Angels this year before the trade, posting a 2.38 ERA and 0.74 WHIP with 20 saves, but now that he's in Philadelphia, he's going to lose a good chunk of fantasy value in what will likely continue to be a committee approach in the ninth inning. The 31-year-old will be sharing closing duties most likely with Jose Alvarado and Jeff Hoffman.
