Carlos Correa's Back Issues In The Past
6 years agoHouston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa (back), who isn't discussing a long-term contract extension with the team as he waits for his arbitration hearing next Thursday, said there is "not even a slight bother" with his back after struggling with injuries last year. He underwent surgery in the offseason to fix his deviated septum. The 24-year-old admitted he came back from his back injury too soon last year and it contributed to his down year (.239/.323/.405 with 15 home runs and 65 RBI in 110 games). Because of the down season, Correa might come slightly cheaper in drafts in 2019, but he's still a top-10 shortstop and could bounce back in a big way with better health.
