Carlos Correa, Twins Talks Accelerate
2 years agoThe Athletic's Dan Hayes and Ken Rosenthal reported Monday that contract talks between the Minnesota Twins and free-agent shortstop Carlos Correa have begun to accelerate. 19 days have passed since the New York Mets reached an agreement with Correa for 12 years, $315 million. This deal was never officially agreed to after concerns arose from Correa's physical exam. The Mets became involved in talks with Correa after a similar agreement between him and the San Francisco Giants fell through due to injury concerns. The 28-year-old opted out of his three-year, $105.3 million contract with the Twins at the end of the 2022 season and declined the 10-year, $285 million offer they made this offseason. Correa will be a fantasy asset regardless of where he signs, but his landing spot is still very much up in the air.
