Carlos Correa Too Expensive For Tigers?
3 years agoAccording to a tweet from MLB Network's Jon Heyman, the Tigers love Carlos Correa. However, Heyman also states that he's "heard from Tigers people who insist they will not spend $300M on any one player due to multiple needs." The insider also mentions that Detroit is reportedly "considering" both Marcus Semien and Javier Baez. Correa hit .279 with a .366 on-base percentage and 26 home runs in 640 plate appearances for the Astros last season. What's more, the Tigers do need a shortstop. Detroit shortstops combined for the third-lowest fWAR output and the fourth-lowest collective wRC+ in the league. Detroit's pursuit of a free agent shortstop will be one of the more interesting offseason storylines to follow in the coming weeks and months.
