Cardinals to Add Elehuris Montero To Player Pool
4 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals announced that they would be adding 21-year-old prospect Elehuris Montero to the main Busch Stadium Summer Camp player pool, bringing their total to 45 players. Montero plays the corner infield spots, and has been in the Cardinals system since he was signed for $300,000 in 2014. Montero has dealt with a few injuries in his minor league career, limiting him to just 59 games at Double-A last season, but he's always shown exciting upside when healthy. Scouts say Montero's swing can get a little long, but his excellent hand-eye coordination and quick bat speed can make up for it. He still has some developing to do, but he's someone to keep an eye on in deeper formats and certainly in any dynasty or keeper leagues.
