Cardinals Could Cut Robbie Anderson
2 years agoFootball Outsiders' Aaron Schatz predicts that the Arizona Cardinals will cut wide receiver Robbie Anderson this offseason after he had only seven catches in 10 games for the team in 2022 after they acquired him from the Carolina Panthers. Cutting Anderson would trim $12 million from the team's salary cap in 2023 with no dead money. The 29-year-old was pretty much buried on the Cardinals receiver depth chart behind DeAndre Hopkins, Marquise Brown, Rondale Moore and Greg Dortch, giving him little chance to make much of an impact in the middle of the season. His current contract calls for a non-guaranteed $8.8 million base salary and $3 million roster bonus in 2023. It's pretty much a no-brainer that Anderson will be released at some point this offseason.
