Cameron Payne Solid In Starting Role
6 years agoChicago Bulls point guard Cameron Payne put together a solid performance in his second start of the year against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday. Payne is still replacing usual starting point guard Kris Dunn. He saw 28 minutes of action, which was enough time for him to rack up 17 points, four assists, and three rebounds. The young guard struggled from deep, going 0-for-3, even though he had a couple of open looks. That’s not really Payne’s strong suit anyway, and he really started to shine when he used his speed to blow by defenders and get into the lane. It sounds like Dunn should return to the lineup soon, so Payne isn’t worth a pick up if he’s headed back to the bench.
