Cam Smith Finding Power Stroke
3 months agoChicago Cubs third base prospect Cam Smith went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI in Wednesday's contest for Single-A Myrtle Beach. It marks the second consecutive game that Smith has hit a home run. The 21-year-old was the Cubs first-round pick in the 2024 draft and has now played in 10 professional games, all with Myrtle Beach. Over that span, he is hitting .212 with two homers, and six RBI. MLB Pipeline ranks Smith as the Cubs No. 8 prospect in a strong system, due to his ability to combine bat strength with a quick swing. It is still very early in his career, but it wouldn't hurt for managers in dynasty leagues to keep an eye on the third baseman before the season wraps up.
