Cam Newton's Shoulder Wasn't As Bad As Feared
6 years agoCarolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton's shoulder wasn't as bad as feared after arthroscopic surgery last month to explore both the labrum and rotator cuff in his right arm. Surgeon Pat Connor told Newton that the "cartilage damage was not as extensive as we'd feared." Newton's shoulder bothered him for most of the second half of the season and he was held out of the final two games with nothing on the line. His surgery yielded good news, though, and Newton should be fine for training camp and the regular season. He's had two surgeries the last two offseasons on his shoulder, but Newton still has high-end QB1 upside if he's healthy. He could come at a nice value in 2019 drafts.
