Cam Newton Feeling Great
6 years agoCarolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (shoulder) said his rehab from offseason shoulder surgery is going "unbelievable" and he hopes to throw before training camp. "I'm feeling great now," Newton told ESPN. "I feel like I do have full strength right now. But me telling the doctor, that is different than, you know, whatever the clearance process may be." Newton was shut down for the final two games in 2018, and scar tissue that remained from his 2017 surgery was removed from his rotator cuff. There is no timetable for when he'll be cleared, but he's confident he won't have any setbacks like he did last year. Newton is on a vegan diet in hopes of getting to the 237-pound range, which would be the lowest of his career. He also hired a personal trainer that works with him daily. While Newton's fantasy value might fall a tad based on his shoulder concerns, he can still make plays with his legs and should remain a QB1 heading into the 2019 season.
