Cam Newton Dealing With Lisfranc Injury
5 years agoCarolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (foot) is out indefinitely with a Lisfranc injury, according to sources. The good news is that Newton isn't expected to need surgery for now, but it's an injury that will require at least multiple weeks to heal. At this point, it's unlikely that Newton would return before the team's Week 7 bye. Backup Kyle Allen played really well in the Week 3 win over the Cardinals, but he'll face much better defenses eventually. He gets another nice matchup in the Texans in Week 4, but Allen is still a low-end QB2 in deep two-QB leagues. Newton should remain stashed on your benches for now.
