2 months agoHouston Texans running back Cam Akers saved an otherwise forgettable day with an eight-yard touchdown reception, his only catch in Sunday’s 34-7 loss against the Minnesota Vikings. A popular waiver wire addition this week with Texans running backs Joe Mixon (ankle) and Dameon Pierce (hamstring) both out, the former Los Angeles Ram didn't do much on the ground. He rusher for 21 yards on nine carries, but he did score Houston's only touchdown. The backfield will belong to Mixon upon his return from an ankle injury, but Akers should have fantasy relevance until then.
