Washington Nationals first-rounder Cade Cavalli will join the team's 60-man summer camp roster. Cavalli was the 22nd overall pick in last month's draft. The 6-foot-4, 226-pounder produces easy velocity (92-96 mph) and tops out at 98 mph with minimal effort. The right-hander out of Oklahoma also gets hitters off-balance with a low-80s curveball and a slider/cutter. Cavalli has the upside of a front-line starting pitcher in the majors, but his addition to the player pool is solely so that the Nationals can continue developing him in his first taste of pro ball. The 21-year-old will need to show better healthy in order to rise quickly through Washington's farm system.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
