Byron Buxton Progressing Well
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (hip) has been progressing well in his recovery from a Grade 2 hip strain. Buxton wasn't able to do anything more than light running about a week ago, but he's now at a point where he'll attempt to push things on the bases later this week. The speedy outfielder could serve as the designated hitter in a rehab game by the end of the week if all goes well, per Dan Hayes of The Athletic. Buxton would then need to play in the field to prove his health before rejoining the Twins. Even if it doesn't happen by the end of this week, it sure sounds like Buxton will be back with the Twins by next week. Fantasy managers may soon be getting back a star player who slashed .370/.408/.772 with nine homers and five stolen bases through his first 24 games.
