Byron Buxton Named American League Player Of The Month
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton was named the American League Player of the Month on Monday. Buxton- who currently owns a ridiculous .408/.444/.842 slash line with eight home runs and three stolen bases- is very deserving of the honor as he put together one of the better months of his seven-year career. The star outfielder leads baseball in Wins Above Replacement and is in some rare company in Twins' franchise history, as he recorded the highest OPS of any Twin through the first 17 games of a season- as well as the ninth-highest in American League history. If Buxton stays healthy, he could soon be adding another piece of American League hardware to his trophy case.
