Byron Buxton Has Career-High Five Hits
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton was slotted into the leadoff spot for just the second time this season and delivered one of his best games as a professional. Buxton recorded the first five-hit game of his career, swatting his eighth home run of the year while scoring a pair of runs and swiping a base. Three of Buxton's hits went for extra bases- and four of them registered exit velocities of 95 MPH or greater, as he was simply an impossible out on Wednesday afternoon. He also flashed his elite speed on one sequence, as he was clocked at 31.6 feet per second on an infield single, then promptly stole second base. The hit parade raises Buxton's season average to .438 to go along with eight home runs and two stolen bases. He's been one of the best players in baseball this season- and many fantasy managers drafted him outside the top-100 picks.
