Byron Buxton Extends Hitting Streak To Six Games
3 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and a run scored in Thursday's win over Toronto. Buxton hit a 100.3 MPH single in the first inning- then ripped a 104.8 MPH double in the third inning, scoring on a Jorge Polanco single. The speedy outfielder is currently riding a six-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 8-for-23 with four doubles, four runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base. Buxton has just a 16 percent strikeout rate- and a 77.6 percent contact rate, both improvements on his season-long numbers. In addition, he owns an incredible 63.2 percent hard-hit rate, meaning the power numbers should be around the corner for Buxton.
