Buffalo Select Rasmus Dahlin With First Overall Pick
6 years agoThe Buffalo Sabres made official the rumors that Rasmus Dahlin would be drafted first overall at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Dahlin had been touted to be the best of the class for much of this past season, where he played with Frolunda in the Swedish Hockey League, scoring 20 points in 41 games. Dahlin has the makings of a franchise player and has already shown an ability to excel in competition with professionals. At 6-foot-3, 185 pounds, he has an NHL frame and intends to fill out more. He often talks about his daily workout regimen with the media. Dahlin has drawn comparisons to legendary defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom and Denis Potvin and is stated to be better than Erik Karlsson, according to Karlsson himself. Dahlin should easily earn a spot on Buffalo’s Day 1 roster, and he shouldn’t need much time to prove effective in a top-four role.
