6 years agoOn Sunday, center Ryan O'Reilly was traded to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for a hefty return. Coming back to Buffalo are forwards Patrik Berglund, Vladimir Sobotka and Tage Thompson, a first-round pick in 2019 and a second-round pick in 2021. Berglund, Sobotka and Thompson should settle in to middle-six roles in Buffalo. Berglund and Sobotka are obviously more proven NHL contributors in the 20-30 point range, but Thompson, a former first-round pick, was high on Buffalo’s radar in this deal. In his only NHL season, Thompson scored three goals and added six assists in 41 games. Thompson has the highest ceiling in terms of fantasy value, but Berglund and Sobotka can, at times, prove to be effective streaming options.--Kevin Acorn
