Bud Norris Could Be Used as a Starting Pitcher in St. Louis
7 years agoNewly-signed St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Bud Norris may be given a chance to work as a starting pitcher this season. He's been working (and at times excelling) out of the bullpen in recent seasons, but the Cardinals have said he may get a chance to work in the rotation if any of their young arms need more time in the minor leagues to start off the season. Norris signed a one-year major league deal on Monday, but the financials have not yet been released. Norris' fantasy value will vary widely based on the role he ends up in. He could work his way into the closer role or could work as a starter. Both of those roles would give him some nice fantasy value in most formats. There's also the chance he ends up working in more of a late-inning setup role, though, which would limit his value to holds leagues.
