1 year agoHeading into the Verizon 200 at The Brickyard race weekend, Bubba Wallace had a comfortable 58-point advantage in the Playoffs standings cutline with three races remaining. However, after an 18th-place finish at the Indy Road Course, Bubba's cushion is now just 28 points over Daniel Suarez. A big part of this is because Suarez finished inside the top 3 in both Stages during that race and came home with a 3rd-place finish when the checkered flag waved as well. Road courses are definitely not Bubba Wallace's strong suit, while Suarez has earned a victory on one of them. We have Watkins Glen coming up this weekend, and if things go as usual, it's likely that Bubba Wallace's Playoffs points cushion will shrink again. --Jordan McAbee
