5 months agoPittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect Bubba Chandler turned in a gem in his latest start, furthering a very effective month on the mound. Chandler scattered two hits and a walk over seven shutout innings with 10 strikeouts for Double-A Altoona on June 21. In four starts this month, the Pirates' No. 3 prospect is 2-1 with a 2.41 ERA and 0.96 WHIP and 24 strikeouts and just two walks. The right-hander has an overpowering fastball to go with a nasty slider. Chandler is looking like a future top-end rotation piece for the Pirates. He could be looking at a promotion to Triple-A by the end of the season and a big-league debut sometime in 2025.--Brian Buckey - RotoBaller
