Bryce Young Expected To Spread The Ball Around
2 years agoWith wide receiver DJ Moore now in Chicago, The Athletic's Joe Person writes that the Carolina Panthers plan to have rookie first-round quarterback Bryce Young spread the ball around among a receiving crew that includes newcomers Adam Thielen, DJ Chark Jr. and rookie second-rounder Jonathan Mingo. Thielen caught a lot of shallow-crossers in the preseason, while Chark will be the big-play threat. Person says that the sense here is the Panthers might not have any wideouts who rack up big fantasy points in 2023. Because of his experience as a possession receiver, the 33-year-old Thielen probably has the highest ceiling and floor of the group, although Mingo could develop into Young's favorite target by season's end.

Bryce Young Tallies Five Touchdowns In Overtime Victory
3 months agoCarolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young went 25-for-34 with 251 yards and three scores during their overtime victory over the Atlanta Falcons. He added 24 yards and two touchdowns on five rushing attempts. This was his best performance of his young NFL career. After having a quiet first quarter, Young was able to punch in a five-yard score with his legs and threw a 33-yard TD pass to Miles Sanders in the second frame. In the third quarter, he found tight end Tommy Tremble and wide receiver David Moore on a 21-yard and nine-yard TD pass respectively. Then in the fourth quarter, Young tallied his second rushing score of the afternoon, this time from ten yards out. The former first-overall pick would then lead the Panthers to a game-winning drive in overtime which was capped off by a Miles Sanders TD run. Despite his struggles last season and at the start of this season, Young has begun to turn the corner. During Weeks 12 through 17, Young averaged a solid 22.0 PPR points per game and will carry some solid momentum into the offseason.

Bryce Young A Low-End QB1 Option Against The Falcons
3 months agoCarolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales said quarterback Bryce Young and the team's other starters will play in Week 18 against the division-rival Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. The Falcon's defense has allowed the sixth most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in 2024. Young has been playing better lately, producing 17-plus fantasy points in four of his last six contests. With Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard (calf, knee) done for the season, this should allow Young to get more volume as a passer. In addition, the Panthers have nothing to lose on Sunday, so fantasy managers can expect the Panthers offense to leave no stone unturned to help identify the future of this Panthers offense. Young will be a borderline QB1 option for fantasy managers in Week 18 and comes in as QB14 in the latest RotoBaller quarterback rankings this week.

Bryce Young, Other Starters Will Play For Panthers In Week 18
3 months agoCarolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales said on Monday that quarterback Bryce Young and the team's other starters will play in Week 18 against the division-rival Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. "We have one more week to finish strong," Canales said. The Panthers were eliminated from postseason contention a while back, but their regular-season finale isn't without playoff implications. If the Panthers knock off the Falcons, they will eliminate them from a chance to win the NFC South. Aside from playing spoiler, the Panthers would also like to finish strong after a nice second-year bounce-back season from Young and the offense under a new coaching staff. The 23-year-old former first overall pick got off to a horrendous start and was benched for Andy Dalton after two games. But since returning, Young has been serviceable and a top-10 fantasy QB. Carolina will look for more growth in Year 3 in 2025.

Bryce Young Plays Clean Football Despite Blowout Loss
3 months agoCarolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 15 of 28 passes for 203 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also took five sacks and rushed for eight yards. Although the Panthers were blown out by a score of 48-14, Young was able to play turnover-free football and add two touchdowns to his 2024 stat line. We would have liked to see a higher completion rate from the former No. 1 pick, but he still showed numerous flashes of upside, including an impressive 40-yard touchdown strike to Adam Thielen. Young has thrown for a touchdown in every game since returning from his midseason benching, specifically totaling 15 scores and six interceptions during that nine-week span. He will be a mid-to-high fantasy QB2 for Week 18 against the Atlanta Falcons, but he could jump up to the low-end QB1 tier if the Panthers beef up their wide receiver corps during the next offseason.
