Bryce Harper Pulling The Ball More?
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper, who homered for the third straight game on Friday, recently made some small changes to his stance. Since July 27, Harper is striking out less (27 percent to 23 percent), has his hard-hit rate up (45 percent to 57 percent) and is walking more (15 percent to 22 percent). The biggest difference, though, appears to be that Harper has been more willing to pull the ball of late despite shifts that opposing teams constantly put on him. He's hitting the ball harder to all fields and is hitting the ball in the air more since July 27. While his average is down since then (.246), his on-base percentage (.409) and slugging percentage (.638) are way up. His fantasy owners can only hope that this change continues through the rest of the year.
