6 years agoAfter the St. Louis Cardinals acquired first baseman Paul Goldschmidt on Wednesday, they are not targeting free-agent outfielder Bryce Harper, according to sources. The team will shift their offseason priorities to improving their bullpen and adding a left-handed hitting bench player. Harper will have plenty of other suitors despite hitting only .249 in 2018. However, the young slugger still managed an impressive 34 home runs, 100 RBI, 13 steals and an .889 OPS in 159 games. Harper has bounce-back potential in the average department and will remain a first-round fantasy pick in 2019.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
