Bryce Harper Clubs Home Run On Thursday
6 years agoWashington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper salvaged his day on Thursday by launching a two-run home run off Mets lefty specialist Jerry Blevins in the seventh inning. Harper finished the day 1-for-5, and his blast provided the Nats with some much-needed insurance runs in an eventual one-run win. He is still struggling mightily at the plate, hitting only .213 on the season. The 25-year-old is 2-for-18 in his last five games, but both hits went for home runs. While the average has been disappointing, Harper's power numbers are still there. The upcoming All-Star break may allow the superstar to hit the reset button heading into the second half.
