Bryan Shaw Picks Up 10th Hold
7 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Bryan Shaw was brought in this season because he had been one of the dominant pieces of Cleveland’s bullpen for the last few years. Unfortunately, he looked like a bust throughout April. Shaw’s April was so bad that his walk rate, WHIP, and ERA are still the highest of his career due to some meltdowns in the first half of April. May’s been an entirely different animal though. Shaw’s K-rate has skyrocketed to 15.26 per nine innings, his walk rate has been cut by 25%, and he’s carrying a sparkling 0.00 ERA through the month of May. Even when he’s allowed baserunners, he’s eliminated them with double plays in almost every situation. Shaw looks like he’s completely back on track, and for those in Holds leagues, they should be able to rest easy knowing his back to his old self.
