Bryan Rust Out On Wednesday
6 months agoPittsburgh Penguins right wing Bryan Rust (lower body) will miss Wednesday's season opener against the Rangers. He has failed to shake off a lower-body injury ahead of the start of the season and sits out the action despite skating on Wednesday morning. Rust's injury means Sidney Crosby will be paired with Drew O'Connor and Anthony Beauvillier on the top line to start the year. Both wingers will have elevated fantasy value thanks to the presence of the NHL's 10th all-time top scorer.

Bryan Rust Ready To Return To Penguins Lineup
1 month agoPittsburgh Penguins right wing Bryan Rust (lower body) expects to return to the lineup on Saturday against the Washington Capitals. The veteran forward was unavailable for Pittsburgh's last game before the 4 Nations Face-Off due to a lower-body injury. The Penguins have not had a great time in 2024-25, but Rust should be pleased with his contributions. In 48 outings, he has posted 20 goals and 22 assists. Rust has also found success in the matchup against the Capitals, posting one goal and one assist in two games with seven shots on goal.

Bryan Rust Tallies Two Helpers On Friday
2 months agoPittsburgh Penguins right wing Bryan Rust dished out two helpers during their victory over the New York Rangers on Friday evening. Rust tallied his first helper on the primary assist on Rickard Rakell's 25th goal of the season in the second frame. Later in the period, Rust tallied another primary assist, this time on the power-play on Philip Tomasino's goal. Even without Sidney Crosby (upper body) on the top line, Rust was able to enjoy a productive game. Over his previous six games, Rust has tallied five points (one goal, four helpers) with 11 shots on goal and six blocked shots. Overall, the 32-year-old has found the back of the net 20 times and added 22 helpers across 48 contests. He remains a solid play in DFS on Saturday evening when he faces the Philadelphia Flyers.

Bryan Rust A Game-Time Call Monday
2 months agoPittsburgh Penguins right wing Bryan Rust (lower body) is considered a game-time call for Monday's matchup against the San Jose Sharks. Rust was unavailable on Saturday against the Seattle Kraken due to a lower-body injury. However, it seems he might only miss one game since Rust took part in Monday's morning skate. The 32-year-old recently posted a season-best three-game goal streak and has provided plenty for fantasy managers. In 43 outings, Rust has recorded 19 goals and 38 points with 111 shots. If Rust remains out on Monday, Jesse Puljujarvi will likely come into the lineup after he was called up from the AHL. Puljujarvi has notched nine points (three goals, six assists) in 25 NHL appearances this season.

Bryan Rust Exits With Lower-Body Injury
2 months agoAccording to the team, Pittsburgh Penguins right wing Bryan Rust (lower body) sustained an injury during their loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday evening. Rust did not play during the entire third period. Earlier in the game, he tallied a primary assist on Michael Bunting's power-play goal. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his status before their game on Saturday afternoon against the Seattle Kraken. Since the start of the month, Rust has tallied 11 points in 11 games with four goals and seven helpers. Overall, Rust has tallied 38 points in 32 contests and is just one goal away from reaching the 20-goal mark for the sixth straight season. If Rust were to miss time, Anthony Beauvillier would likely return to the top line and have streaming appeal playing alongside Rickard Rakell and Sidney Crosby.
