Bryan Abreu Heading To Triple-A For Rehab Assignment
3 years agoHouston Astros relief pitcher Bryan Abreu (calf) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sugar Land this week, according to Astros manager Dusty Baker. Abreu has been out since late May after he injured his calf during batting practice. He was struggling before the injury, but was still heavily utilized out of the pen. Over 21 games, he posted a 4.21 ERA and 1.32 WHIP while earning five holds. He should return to a setup/middle relief role with the Astros after his rehab assignment is complete.
