12 months agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Tuesday that they have moved right-hander Brusdar Graterol (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list and acquired left-handed reliever Nick Ramirez from the New York Yankees in a corresponding move in exchange for cash considerations. Graterol was cleared to throw off a mound on Tuesday for the first time since being placed on the injured list due to right-shoulder inflammation, but the 25-year-old reliever isn't going to return to LA's bullpen anytime soon. Graterol will take his time working his way back and now won't be eligible to return to the Dodgers until May 18. With both Graterol and Blake Treinen (chest) both on the IL early in the year, relievers Daniel Hudson and Joe Kelly have had expanded setup roles ahead of closer Evan Phillips.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

5 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers right-handed reliever Brusdar Graterol (shoulder) underwent right-shoulder surgery on his labrum on Thursday and was operated on by Dr. Neal ElAttrache. Graterol is expected to return to the mound in the second half of the 2025 season as a result. The 26-year-old made a return in the postseason to help the Dodgers win the World Series in October, but he missed the vast majority of the 2024 regular season due to right-shoulder issues. The Venezuelan reliever allowed two earned runs while walking two and striking out seven in 7 1/3 innings of work in just seven appearances in his sixth year in the big leagues. He had his best season in 2023, posting a 1.20 ERA with a career-high seven saves in 67 1/3 frames. Graterol will be off the fantasy radar next spring and won't return to LA until after the All-Star break.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

5 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers relief pitchers Alex Vesia (ribs) and Brusdar Graterol (shoulder), and infielder Miguel Rojas (hernia) are all on the team's roster for the World Series. Vesia hurt his rib cage in the NLDS and was left off the roster for the NLCS, but is ready to rock and will likely be used in high-leverage situations against lefties Juan Soto and Jazz Chisholm. Graterol (shoulder) hasn't pitched since landing on the IL in late September with right-shoulder inflammation, but has been working his way back and should be used in a high-leverage role after a dominant regular season. Rojas has already said he will need offseason surgery to repair a sports hernia, but will play through the injury and try to provide the Dodgers with stellar defense when he plays. Kevin Kiermaier, Evan Phillips (arm fatigue), and Edgardo Henriquez were removed from the World Series roster to make room for the trio.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller

6 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers relief pitchers Brusdar Graterol (shoulder) and Joe Kelly (shoulder) will not be available to pitch in the NLCS, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Graterol has been on the injured list since the end of September with right-shoulder inflammation. Kelly suffered a shoulder injury during a simulated game and has not taken the mound since Sept. 27. However, both pitchers could be in the mix to return in the World Series. The Dodgers will also likely be without Alex Vesia (back) in this series. As a result, DFS managers should expect Blake Treinen to see a majority of the save opportunities after picking up two in the NLDS, with Daniel Hudson, Evan Phillips, and Michael Kopech also having high-leverage roles.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

6 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Brusdar Graterol (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list on Thursday with right shoulder inflammation. Graterol will only be eligible to return if the Dodgers make it deep into the postseason. The 26-year-old missed most of the season due to a previous shoulder injury and made his 2024 debut on August 6. However, shortly after, he hit the IL again due to a hamstring injury. Since returning from that injury on September 10, he tossed seven clean frames with a near-perfect 0.43 WHIP. Through this small stint, Graterol typically pitched in high-leverage situations in the seventh and ninth innings. This is a tough blow to the Dodger bullpen as they approach the preseason with a starting rotation filled with injuries. Fantasy managers should expect Evan Phillips, Alex Vesia, Michael Kopech, and Daniel Hudson to serve as the late-inning options for the Dodgers during October.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
