Broken Steering Eliminates Chase Briscoe From NASCAR Playoffs
1 month agoChase Briscoe essentially had no chance of advancing to the Round of 8 in the NASCAR playoffs unless he won at the Charlotte roval, which was going to be an extreme longshot to begin with since he only qualified 25th. However, he was ultimately eliminated from the playoffs after being involved in a string of incidents, including the Austin Dillon/Tyler Reddick crash on lap 31, then losing a tire a few laps later before he suffered terminal damage in the pileup when Brad Keselowski spun a few laps after that. Although the damage appeared to be only cosmetic, it resulted in a steering failure, which knocked Briscoe out of the race and relegated him to a 36th-place finish. However, he has no reason to feel upset since he definitely exceeded expectations this season and his wife gave birth to twins last week, which is a nice consolation prize.
