Minnesota Wild defenseman Brock Faber signed an eight-year extension on Monday. He will be on a $68 million deal once his entry-level contract expires next summer. The Wild are investing heavily in Faber after he was one of the standout rookies in the NHL in 2023-24, finishing second only to Chicago's Connor Bedard in the Calder Trophy voting. The Minnesota native recorded 47 points (eight goals, 39 assists) in 82 games while averaging a team-high 24:58 of ice time. Faber, who will turn 22 in a few weeks' time, also did his part defensively by amassing 150 blocks and 65 hits. Fantasy managers got a lot out of the young blue-liner during his rookie campaign, and Faber looks set to lead the Wild blue line for years to come.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
