5 years agoBoston Red Sox pitcher Brian Johnson was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday "with a non-baseball related medical matter that was discovered during routine testing by the club's medical staff." Pitcher Hector Velazquez (back) was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move. Johnson was in the starting rotation after spending 61 games on the injured list earlier this year with elbow inflammation. The left-hander has an ugly 6.43 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 13 strikeouts in 14 innings over two starts and five relief outings this season. He has use in AL-only leagues when he's in the rotation, but there's no telling how long he'll be out this time around.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
