Brian Hill 2021 Outlook: A Steady Veteran Hand in a New Location
3 years agoBrian Hill has made a respectable career for himself after entering the league as a fifth-round draft pick from Wyoming in 2017. Hill, who holds the Wyoming single-season and career records for rushing yards, served as Devonta Freeman's primary backup in 2019 and as Todd Gurley's primary backup in 2020. With the Falcons heading towards a rebuilding project, the team decided to let Hill depart in free agency to the Tennessee Titans despite 465 rushing yards and the most productive season of his career in 2020. The move from Atlanta to Nashville seems likely to damper Hill's fantasy value significantly. Now, instead of competing with the likes of Qadree Ollison and Mike Davis for carries, Hill will be stuck behind Derrick Henry and Darrynton Evans on the depth chart and staring down a role as the team's third or fourth running back. Last year, Hill proved himself as an acceptable fantasy flyer for teams in a pinch, but not a player that teams should seek out. With so much stiff competition for touches in Tennessee, Hill would need a minor miracle and a slew of injuries to be worth monitoring as a fantasy option in 2021.
