Brian Harman In A Perfect Spot To Carry Momentum Forward
11 months agoGolf fans haven't exactly been quick to anoint Brian Harman as one of the best players on the planet (even after winning the Open Championship by six shots), but the 36-year-old's recent run of form after reaching this pinnacle is giving less and less leg for his detractors to stand on. Harman has recorded three finishes of 8th or better since winning his first Major Championship last summer, including a fifth-place finish at last week's Sentry. This week, he'll be considered one of the favorites around a venue that should prove more suited to his precision-based approach. Harman has made nine of ten cuts around Waialae since 2014, and has been particularly prolific on these green complexes - gaining at least 4.5 strokes putting to the field in five of those ten starts. If those trends continue for the Georgia Bulldog this week, he's as live as anyone in the field to find his way into contention on Sunday afternoon.
