Brian Goodwin Placed On DL
6 years agoThe Kansas City Royals placed outfielder Brian Goodwin (groin) on the 10-day disabled list on Tuesday with a left groin strain. He will be eligible to return on Aug. 8. In corresponding moves, the team called up first baseman Ryan O'Hearn from Triple-A Omaha and moved infielder Cheslor Cuthbert to the 60-day DL. It's a shame for Goodwin, as he was seeing everyday playing time after landing in KC, and he was 8-for-17 (.471) with a homer and four RBI in his first five games for the Royals. O'Hearn, a left-handed swinger, was batting just .232 for Triple-A but had 11 homers and 52 RBI in 353 at-bats. He could see occasional at-bats and is worth a look in deep AL-only leagues.
