Brian Goodwin Hits First Career Grand Slam
7 years agoWashington Nationals outfielder Brian Goodwin launched the first grand slam of his career against the Reds on Saturday. It came in the ninth inning against reliever Kevin Quakenbush when the Nationals were already ahead. He finished the day 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Goodwin was playing in place of Michael Taylor, who was given a day of rest. Goodwin is a former first-round pick who is unfortunately playing behind three great outfielders in Taylor, Bryce Harper and Adam Eaton. He provided ample pop, along with some steals, last season. But it will take an injury to give him regular starts. He's still a great daily play whenever he's in the lineup.
